Ben Pollack was the conductor on Dorothy Fields' first book musical, Hello Daddy and two of the songs from that show are on this CD. There are three likeable and lesser-known Fields/McHugh tracks. This is an enjoyable big band CD, featuring Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James and Jack Teagarden. As usual with this style of recording, nearly all tracks follow this formula: a long orchestral introduction, then a short vocal (normally omitting introductory verses), then another minute or so of the band.
