About me

My name is Jon Aldous and I live quietly in Lee in South East London.

This site is the product of three converging passions:

A love of the work of the classic American songwriters;
A frustrated librarian's urge to classify and organize information;
A delight in programming, and desire to learn HTML.

Other interests are participating in pub quizzes and researching family history (struck lucky and got back to 1450).

I like to travel, particularly to view wildlife in Africa and other places, and literary favourites are Ivy Compton-Burnett, Wilkie Collins and golden age detective fiction.

On weekdays I travel to Charing Cross and do vital statistical and analytical work for Her Majesty's Government.
