He wrote with many lyricists, of whom some of the more famous were : Harry Ruby, Buddy de Sylva, Billy Rose, Al Dubin, Yip Harburg, Frank Loesser and Irving Caesar His most famous song successes were : California, Here I Come (De Sylva) Clap Hands, Here Comes Charley (MacDonald and Billy Rose) If You Knew Susie (De Sylva) And in 1945 he wrote a song called Sergeant Housewife with Dorothy Fields. |
